Toby the Tram was an engine on the Wisbech &
Upwell Tramway on which Outwell Basin was a depot for road / rail /
canal transhipment. Here a variety of light railway locos, hauling
typical trains can be seen, allowing display of a variety of stock.
Outwell Basin belongs to Chris Hyde who for a long time was secretary
of the Heywood Model Railway Group. Chris had said that he has done the
secretaries job for too long now and has stood down so that he will have
more time for his modelling activities.
In fact since handing over the Secretaries job
Chris has now produced yet another Exhibition model which attended our
March 2002 event and can be seen on the "Metropolitan"
